My dad built this house for a rich French family named the Bonners. They had three kids - Maria (pronounced, Mariah), Jules & Henry. Jules & Henry were younger than me and Maria was my age. They never wanted to play with me, although Mrs. Bonner made Maria sit with me a couple times. I was in love with Maria. When I went to work with my dad I would mostly climb trees and watch her walk around. I think I was about 10.
The house was five stories tall and had a spiral staircase. It was really impressive. The Bonners lived there for several years and then sold it and moved to France. I heard Maria is now a model or an actress. About five years ago, I wrote the song Assets about this experience.
